Academic Research

Academic research serves as the cornerstone of discovery, driving us toward a deeper comprehension of the world around us. It's the compass guiding our quest for knowledge, shedding light on new ideas, solutions, and possibilities that shape our future.

Electroencephalogram

Flinker Lab, NYU Langone Health

Flinker Lab investigates speech perception and production by employing machine learning and signal processing to elucidate speech networks from EcoG data collected directly from the brain of neurosurgical patients undergoing treatment for refractory epilepsy.

My role as a Research Assistant consists of analyzing the collected videos and EcoG data and using MATLAB to sync the video, audio and ECoG data so that all the information can be observed side by side which could be used by other members of the lab who needed to view all the data at once. This makes it easier to notice important connections and make discoveries.

Indistinguishable From Magic

Indistinguishable from Magic is a start-up company that aims to connect the physical world to the digital through a hardware device. The device makes designing and creating interactive software fast, easy, and accessible by removing the need for programming and engineering. The device has sensors that allows people to apply sensor technology to various smart equipment.

My role as a Biomedical Research Intern is to research assistive technology and the applications of the device to assistive technology for the disabled or individuals with a limited range of motion. I am currently working on adapting the device to enable individuals with visual impairment to sense and navigate their surroundings and to detect color using the device. I also help with social media scripting of posts and research new trends to increase engagement and interaction on their posts.
